How to install Xibo on Windows 10 64 bit



What is Xibo?

XIbo is open source signage software, Xibo Digital Signage is a low-cost, high performance solution to launch your business, workplace or organisation into the future. Xibo doesn’t just replicate print media, but actively increases engagement allowing you to deliver your message more effectively than ever before

How to install Xibo on Windows 10.

It is very easy to install the Xibo on windows 10 x64 bit os with docker. Below is the step to install the Xibo.



ð  Step 1.  Download the docker for windows 10 x64, Link to download Docker

ð  Step 2. Install the Docker.


Double-click Docker for Windows Installer to run the installer.
When the installation finishes, Docker starts automatically. The whale  in the notification area indicates that Docker is running, and accessible from a terminal.

Run

Open a command-line terminal like PowerShell, and try out some Docker commands!
Run docker version to check the version.
Run docker run hello-world to verify that Docker can pull and run images.

Docker is available in any terminal as long as the Docker CE for Windows app is running. Settings are available on the UI, accessible from the Docker whale in the taskbar.
ð  2.1 Now open the setting of Docker and go to Shared drives Select drive and click apply.


ð  Step 3. Download the Xibo-Docker Link to download

3.1              Extract to C:\Xibo\

3.1              Open the folder and rename config.env.template to config.env

3.2              Open the config.env in Wordpad and put the password of the MySQL_PASSWORD= 212121  and save.

3.1               Open the powershell runas Administrator.

è Goto c:\xibo\xibo-docker-1.8.9

è Run the following command in PowerShell.
docker-compose up –d


Check the status of the running container
Docker ps -s

è This will bootstrap and start your Xibo CMS. The CMS will be fully installed with the default credentials.
è Now open the browser log on to the CMS at http://localhost.
è Below are the default credentials
Username: Xibo_admin
Password: password

Done, If not troubleshoot
1_ to check the default 80 port is free?
2_ Config.env file in c:\xibo\xibo-docker.x.x.x\Config.env
3_ check Mysql password config.env


Note
